A news and discussion community for technology; Show HN is for maker-built projects that others can actually try.
Submit a story through the submission form; a Show HN title must begin with “Show HN.” The project should be substantial, made by the submitter, and usable by others. Blog posts, signup pages, newsletters, lists, other reading material, and fundraisers are not eligible for Show HN. The guidelines recommend making the project easy to try, ideally without signup or email barriers. Show HN stories first appear in the newest feed and need to clear a points threshold to appear on the Show page.
Hacker News currently says Show HNs are temporarily restricted and recommends getting to know the community and becoming a good contributor before posting an occasional Show HN. The submission form requires login.
Do not use Hacker News primarily for promotion or ask friends to upvote or comment. The official Show HN posting tips ask authors to write their submission text themselves, without LLM generation or editing.
